We are announcing an exciting opportunity related to our recent youth consultation on primary health care. Read on for more details.

The Global Conference on Primary Health Care, co-hosted by the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the Government of Kazakhstan, will be held in Astana on October 25-26, 2018. The conference will bring together Member States, international organizations, civil society, academic institutions and other partners to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Declaration of Alma Ata and present a bold vision for PHC in the 21st Century.

We have been working closely with WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA to ensure that young people have a meaningful role to play in the conference. This includes organising youth consultations across all regions and feeding into the programme.

As a result, we’re pleased to tell you that we have been invited to nominate 10 young people to attend the conference (funding included). Attendees will have an opportunity to participate directly in the proceedings, as both moderators and speakers, and there will be opportunities to deliver key messages on the behalf of the constituency.

Primary health care is the cornerstone of strong health systems, and most of you will have come into contact with it – whether as a patient or professional. No matter what your experience of primary care health – we encourage you to apply!

Please note that they will be considered on a rolling basis so we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Best of luck and we look forward to receiving your application!
